What’s Missing in Today’s Military: Integrity

Mar 20, 2018

As I said in part 1 of this series, the problems in our military really began about 10 years ago. During this time, a lot of the long-standing rules in the military were changed, especially regarding the lowered requirements for enlistment. In addition, new leaders with very little (if any) experience were put in charge […]

What’s Missing in Today’s Military: Honor

Mar 19, 2018

When you look around at our military today—especially for me or anybody that has been in the military for over ten years—you just shake your head and think, “What happened?” Today’s military has the highest crime rate ever, and I’m not just talking about violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). I’m talking […]

Veterans without Care: What’s Wrong with the VA?

Dec 18, 2017

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has long been around to help veterans of the United States Armed Forces. First established after the war of 1812, their job is primarily to provide veterans with the health care they need, as well as to make sure the benefits veterans will receive are done in a timely […]

The M240: A Reliable Weapon for Infantry

Dec 8, 2017

It doesn’t matter what branch it is, they all rely on small arms weapons for immediate action when under attack. The infantry in the Army utilizes a few different weapons in their platoons and the Marines, Navy, Coast Guard, and Air Force are pretty much the same. Additionally, the Military Police and other combat arms […]

5Who’s the Real Enemy?

Who’s the Real Enemy?

Dec 7, 2017

If you ask anyone, they’ll probably tell you our main enemy is somewhere in the Middle East and that they go by names of Taliban, ISIS, and others. However, if you ask a veteran or anyone that’s been in the military in the last 20 years, they will tell you different. The Real Enemy They’ll […]

The National Anthem & Taking a Knee

Dec 6, 2017

For all of us Americans, we should know who Francis Scott Key is. If you don’t, he wrote the “Star Spangled Banner.” For many of us, since we were kids, we watched both college and professional football on the weekend. Now, the NFL and the NCAA have become some of the biggest businesses in the […]

7Making Improvements to Our Military

Making Improvements to Our Military

Dec 5, 2017

I’ve spent over 16 years in the military. I remember when I started boot camp, I was afraid. And I wasn’t alone because everybody else was too. We had respect out of fear. Mainly from hearsay. We heard about the previous experiences of the others before us, and that’s why we went in with respect. […]

8An Ongoing Issue in the Military: Drugs & Tattoos

An Ongoing Issue in the Military: Drugs & Tattoos

Dec 4, 2017

For many years, the military has conducted random drug testing on military personnel. As more states legalize certain drugs, such as marijuana, the ongoing use of recreational drugs by military personnel, opioids included, continues to increase. Why Isn’t Drug Use Such a Concerning Issue? The fact is we continue to allow people into the military […]

9The Disaster of Military Uniforms

The Disaster of Military Uniforms

Dec 1, 2017

During my time in the military, I’ve seen lots of changes with the uniforms from each branch. When I started in the Army, we wore the old BDUs and the green dress uniforms. The Air Force jumped on the bandwagon when the Army lost their bet and they let them wear the ACUs as well. […]
